The Swedish Royal Family belongs to the Bernadotte dynasty, who have held the Swedish throne for over 200 years.

Princess Désirée

Désirée Elisabeth Sibylla, born 1938. Désirée is the daughter of Prince Gustaf Adolf and Princess Sibylla.

Desirée trained as a preschool teacher, and worked as a preschool teacher on Kungsholmen before she married. She also has a degree in textiles from the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design.

Désirée married Baron Niclas Silfverschiöld (1934–2017) in 1964, and has lived at Koberg Castle in Västergötland since then. The couple have three children: Carl (born 1965), Christina Louise (born 1966) and Hélène (born 1968).
