Meetings about sustainability and industry in Paris

On Monday 6 December, The Crown Princess was in Paris. The programme for the day included meetings about sustainable transport and industry issues.

The day began with a visit to La Fabrique Métro on the theme of green transport. During her visit, The Crown Princess learnt about the future Métro system for the Paris region and other forms of public transport.

The morning's programme then continued with round-table discussions at the Swedish Embassy on future mobility, involving Swedish and French business leaders. The round-table discussions were arranged by Business Sweden, and addressed future sustainable transport solutions.

The Crown Princess attended then attended a business lunch at the Swedish Residence. Representatives from six French businesses working in Sweden took part in the lunch. Ambassador Håkan Åkesson hosted the lunch, and Business Sweden's CEO Jan Larsson also attended.

During the afternoon, The Crown Princess took part in the French-Swedish Business Summit on the Decarbonisation of the Economy at the Pavillon Vendôme.

In her opening address, The Crown Princess said:

And I am honoured to open today’s French-Swedish Business Summit on a subject which is especially close to my heart: the decarbonisation of economies and the urgency of a worldwide green transformation.

The afternoon concluded with Christine Hammarstrand from the Swedish Embassy giving a tour of Ewald Dahlskog's 1932 frescos and describing the history of the Pavillon Vendôme.

In the evening, The Crown Princess attended the opening of the Swedish Institute's exhibition, which is on show at the Pavillon Vendôme.

The Crown Princess was then given a guided tour of the Pioneer the Possible exhibition and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce's Innovation in Tech exhibition. At the Innovation in Tech exhibition, The Crown Princess met representatives from start-up businesses who described their operations.

The evening ended with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce's dinner, at which The Crown Princess presented the Prix d'Excellence industry award.
