HRH Princess Estelle is the oldest child of Their Royal Highnesses The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel.

The Princess lives with her family at Haga Palace in Solna.

Princess Estelle attends primary school at Campus Manilla on Royal Djurgården in Stockholm.

In accordance with the 1979 Act of Succession, which came into effect on 1 January 1980, Princess Estelle is second in line to the throne after The Crown Princess.

Biography

HRH Princess Estelles biography

Princess Estelle was born on Thursday 23 February 2012 at 04:26, at Karolinska Hospital in Solna.

After her birth, salutes were fired from Sweden's salute stations. Since The Princess was the firstborn child of the heir to the throne, two rounds of twenty-one gun salutes were fired with one minute in between.

Statement of Witness and Extraordinary Council

Speaker Per Westerberg, Prime Minster Fredrik Reinfeldt, Marshal of the Realm Svante Lindqvist and Mistress of the Robes Countess Alice Trolle-Wachtmeister witnessed the newborn Princess during a ceremony at Haga Palace on the day after the birth.

That same day, HM The King summoned the Government to an Extraordinary Council at which he announced that the child would be called Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary. The King also announced that he had conferred the title Duchess of Östergötland on her.

The christening

Princess Estelle was christened by Archbishop Anders Wejryd, Chief Court Chaplain Lars-Göran Lönnermark and Dean Åke Bonnier in the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace on 22 May 2012.

Her godparents were the Prince of Orange (now King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands), Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, Crown Princess (now Queen) Mary of Denmark, Prince Carl Philip and Anna Westling Söderström.

The Princess was christened in King Karl XI's 17th century silver baptismal font, using christening water from a source on Öland.

Childhood and schooling

Princess Estelle joined the Äventyret preschool in Danderyd, near Stockholm, in May 2014. The preschool followed outdoor educational methods to teach children more about nature.

In 2016, The Princess began attending Lilla Kvikkjokk Montessori preschool on Royal Djurgården in Stockholm.

In August 2018, Princess Estelle started preschool classes at Campus Manilla on Royal Djurgården where she is currently continuing her schooling.
